A delicious twist on the classic grilled cheese sandwich with tender pulled chicken, smoky Gouda cheese, and a hint of barbecue flavor.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups pulled chicken
  • 4 slices of sourdough bread
  • 8 slices of Gouda cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup pickles, sliced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

Set a griddle or skillet over medium heat to warm it up

Each piece of sourdough bread should have one side brushed with butter

On the side of two slices of bread that hasn't been buttered, put two slices of Gouda cheese

Put some pulled chicken on top of the cheese

Put barbecue sauce on top of the chicken

Put pickles and sliced red onion on top

On top of the onions and pickles, put the last two slices of Gouda cheese

Add the last few slices of sourdough bread on top, buttered side up

Put the sandwiches on the griddle or skillet that has been heated up

Cook for about 34 minutes on each side, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese melts

Take them off the heat and wait one minute

Cut the sandwiches in half across the middle and serve them hot

Enjoy your grilled cheese and pulled chicken!
