Zucchini au Gratin



Zucchini au Gratin is a delicious and cheesy baked dish that combines the subtle flavor of zucchinis with creamy Gruyere and Parmesan cheese. It's a perfect side dish for any meal and is sure to impress your guests with its rich and savory flavors.

Ingredients:

  • 4 medium-sized zucchinis, sliced into rounds
  • 1 cup shredded Gruyere cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh thyme leaves for garnish

Instructions:

Turn on your oven and heat it up to 375F 190C

Warm up the olive oil in a big pan over medium-high heat

Put in the zucchini slices and cook for about 34 minutes on each side, until they get a light brown color

Take it off the heat and set it aside

Set the pan back on medium heat and melt the butter in it

Add the minced garlic and cook for one minute, until the garlic smells good

Add the Gruyere cheese, half of the Parmesan cheese, and heavy cream

Mix the sauce and cheese together until it's smooth

Add pepper and salt to taste

In a baking dish that has been greased, put half of the sauted zucchini rounds on top

Cover the zucchini with half of the cheese sauce

Do it again with the rest of the cheese sauce and zucchini

Add the rest of the Parmesan cheese on top

Place in an oven that has already been heated and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the zucchinis are soft

Before serving, sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves
