Cherry Donuts



These Cherry Donuts are a delightful treat that combines the sweetness of cherries with a fluffy, fried donut. Perfect for breakfast or as a sweet snack.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped cherries fresh or frozen
  • Oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt

In another bowl, whisk together buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined

Gently fold in the chopped cherries into the batter

Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350F 175C

Drop spoonfuls of the cherry donut batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side

Remove the donuts using a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil

Once the donuts have cooled slightly, dust them with powdered sugar

Serve the cherry donuts warm and enjoy!
