Chocolate Fudge Cake Doughnuts
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- For the glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3-4 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and grease a doughnut pan
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt
Add the vegetable oil, buttermilk, egg, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, and mix until well combined
Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips into the batter
Fill each doughnut well in the pan about 2/3 full with the batter
Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into a doughnut comes out clean
While the doughnuts are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and glossy
Once the doughnuts are done, let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely
Dip each cooled doughnut into the chocolate glaze, allowing any excess to drip off
Place the glazed doughnuts back on the wire rack to set the glaze
